Michelin Man

While looking into the way logos have changed over the past 30 years i came across an article about the Michelin Man and how this character is one of the few symbols left which still remains relevant and powerful in an ever-changing world.

The Michelin Man was designed by cartoonist Maurice Rossillon in 1898; over a century ago! Although the character has slimmed down slightly since he first began, his curvy tire body and childish face with big egg shaped eyes still remain the same. I really like the cuddly character and i can't imagine such a child like, silly character being created like this to represent a reliable, stable company today. The Michelin Man seems to be unique in the world of logo identities and has withstood the every-changing world, therefore i think he deserves a bit of respect!
